Skincare Routine For All Skin Types
The skin is delicate and needs specific ingredients to be its best, healthy, and radiant. These skincare steps with recommended ingredients will help you to curate the best routine for your skin.
Cleanser – you want to thoroughly cleanse your skin from the dust it may have accumulated overnight and from dead skin cells that may have loosened overnight. Therefore, it is best to use a gentle daily exfoliating cleanser in the morning. Look for cleansers with ingredients such as salicylic acid, amino acid, green tea, and antioxidants.
Toners – a toner, while optional, will refresh your skin, add hydration to your skin, and also help to balance the skin’s pH immediately after cleansing.
Essence – an essence is a product that is a hybrid between a toner and a serum (using an essence is optional)
Treatment Serums – use a treatment serum to treat any skin issues you may have. For example, use a Niacinamide serum to treat the overproduction of sebum in the skin. Also, you may use a retinol serum to treat premature wrinkles. Also, use a green tea serum to soothe inflamed skin and an Azelaic acid serum to treat acne.
Antioxidant Serums – antioxidant serums work to protect the skin from free radicals that damage the skin cells that cause premature wrinkles and dull-looking skin.
Eye Cream – an eye cream treats dark circles, puffy eyes, crow’s feet around the eyes
Daily Moisturizer – a daily moisturizer should provide skin hydration (water) and Moisturizer (oil). Look for ingredients such as Hyaluronic acid, squalane, amino acids, peptides, and ceramides. Also, you may use aloe Vera, jojoba oil, collagen, ferulic acid, and vitamin e.
SPF Sunscreen – always apply sunscreen for optimal skin protection. A zinc-based sunscreen will protect the skin against UVA/UVB sun damage.
Face Mask – use a weekly skin mask geared towards what you are treating your skin for. For example, use a clay mask for oily/acne-prone skin. Also, an AHA/BHA mask for acne spots and hyperpigmentation, a Hyaluronic acid mask for hydration, and a collagen mask for wrinkles and fine lines.
