Best And Worst Skincare Products That I Emptied

best skincare products

Hello Friends, this post is about the best and worst skincare products that I emptied. Some of the products I used, worked for me – and some did not work for me.

Here are the products I used –

1. L’oreal Micellar Cleansing Water – Tiny micelle molecules power micellar cleansing water. The tiny micelle molecules cluster together to attract and lift away impurities and makeup without harsh rubbing and without drying the skin. One of the best skincare products.

The first step to removing my makeup is to use the cleansing water. The L’oreal cleansing water is best for all skin types and is not harsh on my skin or strip my skin of its natural oils. It removes makeup even stubborn waterproof mascara. It also removes dirt and oil for fresh skin.

I soak my cotton pad with the micellar water, and then I place the pad on my skin and begin to wipe off my makeup gently. I do not need to rub hard because as I put the soaked pad on my skin, the micelle clusters attract and makeup, therefore, making it easy to wipe off the makeup.

Using the micellar cleansing water makes the second step of my skincare routine easy. The second product that I use is the next favorite I want to talk about; it is a holy grail product.

2. Neutrogena Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover – This cleanser is an absolute favorite of mine, and I have used it for several years. This makeup remover can be an all-in-one cleanser. You can use it as a makeup remover and also as a facial cleanser. It is made with Peruvian Tara Seed which enriches the skin with moisture and leaves the skin soft without stripping the skin of its natural skin moisture. One of the best skincare products.

I use the makeup remover anytime I need to remove my makeup. It works well. I use two pumps, lather it up, and massage it into my skin, and it dissolves all my makeup. It also removes mascara and eyeliner easily. It is dermatologically recommended, and it does not contain any toxic ingredients.

3. Thayers Witch Hazel Toner – This is a trending beauty product in the beauty community. I remember using this product years back when they had the old packaging. I love this toner as it helps to refresh and make my skin ‘glow.’ It is alcohol-free and hydrates the skin without stripping it from its natural oils.

I use this toner immediately I cleanse my skin. Some of the benefits of using a facial toner it to replenish the lost moisture your skin might have experienced while cleansing your skin. It helps to fade dark spot, and shrink large pores.

Thayers facial toner is made with fresh Witch Hazel, which is not distilled, therefore maintaining all the beneficial natural tannins.

4. ‘The Ordinary’ Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA – When I was looking for a skincare product to fade my hyperpigmentation, I decided to try The Ordinary products. I went to their website, and they suggested to use Alpha Arbutin to fade my dark spots safely. I decided to try it, but the results were not up to satisfaction for me. Even though it had lots of good reviews, it did not work for me. I saw little to no change in my spots. So, therefore, I will not not be repurchasing this product.

5. ‘The Ordinary’ Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion – Now this is an absolute favorite product from The Ordinary brand. Granactive retinoid is in the Vitamin A family. Retinol and Retinoid are the same, but the retinoids work much faster than retinol. Granactive retinoid is uber amazing; if I can use only one product for the rest of my life, it will be this product.

Granactive retinoid has changed my skin for the better. Here are some of the changes I have noticed in my skin since I started using this product.
1. Very smooth skin texture.
2. Soft skin.
3. Hyperpigmentation fading faster.
4. Beautiful radiance.
5. Skin looks tighter.
6. Shrinking Pores

The way retinoid work is that it helps to speed cell turnover. The old cells die rapidly, and new cells begin to grow. It increases the production of collagen. It stimulates the creation of new blood cells in the skin, which helps to improve the skin color.

I will repurchase the product!

6. ‘The Ordinary’ Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% –  If you have oily skin, this product is perfect for you to curb oil production in the skin. I have a love-hate relationship with this product. I loved the fact that it helped minimize the oil production on my skin, and it helped my skin stay matte all day. It did help with my sebum production.

The not so good aspect of using this product was that it made my skin very dry (this makes sense.) What happens is that when I cleanse my skin, I noticed that my skin would become very dry. That feeling was very uncomfortable. At first, I wasn’t sure why my skin was going through that phase. Then I realized it might have been the Niacinamide I was using. I decided to empty the bottle, and after I stopped using it, I noticed my skin went back to normal. I did not experience that overwhelming dryness on my skin anymore.

I might repurchase this prodcut, but instead of using it daily, I will cut it down to using it three times a week.
