Our idea of living a minimalist lifestyle is not only about living in a house with fewer things but extends to all areas of our lives. When we talk about minimalism, people automatically think I need a home with fewer things, but our idea of minimalism extends far from the borders of the home.

What Is Minimalism?

Our definition of minimalism is that you can live free of worry, stress, and anxiety. In order words, when your mind is de-cluttered, your life will also be de-cluttered. Do you find that everything about your life seems chaotic when you are stressed and anxious?

This blog post will help you de-clutter your mind and soul to live in joy, peace, serenity, tranquility, and a sound mind. As your mind adjusts to your new thinking, it will also reflect in your life.

How To Live A Minimalist Lifestyle

Relationship With God: God is our heavenly Father who wants to have a relationship with us and help us overcome the hardships of life. Most importantly, He wants to give you eternal life so you can spend all eternity with Him in Heaven. Therefore, He has made provision available so you can have a relationship with Him – that is, by believing and putting our faith in Jesus Christ for the repentance of sin and to become Born Again. The moment you place your faith in Jesus Christ, you become born again and receive the Holy Spirit, and God begins to sanctify and prune you spiritually and physically.

Good Mental And Emotional Health: It is vital to have good mental and emotional health. Our mind is the seat of our life and controls our daily activities. But most importantly, our mind is also influenced by our thoughts, and if your thoughts are negative, they will reflect in your daily activities. Proverbs 4:23 states that we should be careful what we think, for our thoughts run our life. Therefore, it is vital to be aware of the thoughts that run through your mind, control them, and exchange those negative thoughts for positive ones.

How Did We Become So Anxious And Depressed?

Most of us have grown up in homes without adequate bonding with our parents. Furthermore, most of our parents were emotionally detached. It affected our relationship with them, and this makes for a life of traumatic symptoms such as depression, insecurity, anxiety, PTSD, social anxiety, and a host of other symptoms.

As we become adults, the work falls on us to treat our psychological problems, such as overcoming our anxiety, depression, and insecurities. This treatment means seeking therapy and resolving past trauma, hurt, and pain.

Some healing sessions you may encounter in therapy include forgiveness and learning to renew your negative dominant thoughts. Also, you may work to resolve conflicts, overcome anger issues, and learn to overcome insecurity issues so you can thrive in your self-esteem.

Your mind and emotions must be healthy so you can thrive and live in all the abundance God has in store for you.

Living A Life Of Purpose: Next, discover your purpose in life and how to accomplish that purpose. Recently, I have learned that what I do is not work, but it is solving problems and bringing solutions to situations. That way of thinking has drastically changed my approach to work.

When you discover your purpose and wake up every day working to bring solutions to problems, it changes the dynamic of your work and challenges you to solve as many issues as possible while you are still here on earth.

After all, God gave us our innate talents and skills so we could solve problems and serve other people.

Creating Sensory Stimulating Home: As discussed above, when it comes to living a minimalist lifestyle, it is not solely about the home, but it is about every aspect of your life. But, the house is also vital because it is our sanctuary, and you want to make it your oasis so that your mental and physical health benefits from how you have structured your home.

What is sensory stimulation? First, a sensory stimulus is any event or object that is received by the senses and elicits a response from a person. The stimulus can come in many forms, such as light, heat, sound, and touch, as well as from internal factors.

With that definition, creating a sensory-stimulating home means creating a home that will elicit a response from all your five senses – Because you want to make a home that will nurture your mental and emotional health. Additionally, you want to eliminate all stress, anxiety, and any feelings of sadness from your environment.

Also, when we eat healthy fruits and vegetables, our body consciously removes the needed nutrients and keeps our bodies healthy. Therefore, eat a well-balanced diet of proteins, vitamins, healthy carbs and fats, and minerals to help keep your body and mind healthy.

Get Lots Of Sleep, Drink Lots Of Water, and Enjoy Nature: Lastly, remember to enjoy your beauty sleep; it is called beauty sleep because when we get adequate sleep, our body and skin regenerate and heal any unknown problems before it manifests. Also, drink lots of water to help flush your body of toxins and hydrate your body simultaneously. You may add lemon slices to your water for a whole-body cleanse, or you may add sea salt to your water for detoxing and to give minerals to your body.

Finally, remember to exercise and enjoy nature. Go out and enjoy nature, go to the beach, smell the ocean, or visit the museum and examine some art.
