I am so happy to write this blog post because I hope this information may help someone suffering from excess oily skin. To have oily skin is not a bad thing it is a blessing, and I am glad that I have oily skin and not any other skin type. But when you have too much oil seeping out of your pores, it can be a tad bit annoying.
Let’s talk about the benefits of having oily skin. Firstly, if you have this skin type, you have an over-production of sebum in your skin, and sebum is our natural lubrication that helps keep the skin moisturized and works to transport antioxidants to the skin. Secondly, oily skin keeps you looking younger longer as it does not age quickly compared to other skin types. So, if you have oily skin, you have all those sweet benefits to enjoy.
Oily Face And Acne
But with the good also comes the not-so-good. For example, if you have oily skin, you might be predisposed to getting acne. Acne forms because of excess oils in the skin, bacteria, dirt, and dead skin cells. In contrast, some causes of acne may be hormonal or genetic. Furthermore, if hormones or genetics cause your acne, it may be advisable to see a dermatologist for the proper treatment.
We will talk about excess oil on the face and controlling it with this top ingredient for this post.
The Best Ingredient To Treat Oily Face
When I was on the quest to fade my acne scars, I discovered The Ordinary skincare brand and did a little research about their products. One of the products that they recommended to me was their Niacinamide and Zinc serum.
So, in a quest to fade my acne scars, I immediately started to use the niacinamide, and in a few days, I noticed that my oily skin was not as oily during the day as it used to; in contrast, my skin began to get matte. As a result, I could touch my face during the day and not risk having oils on my fingertips.
Before using niacinamide, my t-zone will get oily during the day, and also I will have to blot my face several times during the day to remove sebum from my skin.
However, since using niacinamide, the oils in my face are balanced, and it has caused my skin to become matte and healthy.
Niacinamide also treats acne; it offers antioxidant health, shrinks large pores, and fades acne scars/hyperpigmentation.
If you are looking for an affordable but powerful product to stop oily face and balance your sebum permanently, try The ordinary’s Niacinamide + Zinc serum.
Until next time
