Neutrogena took one of the best ingredients in the world and ran with it – Hyaluronic acid isn’t just a trend like other ingredients that come with a bang into the beauty world and then lose its popularity. Hyaluronic acid is here to stay, and I am glad that Neutrogena has curated a skincare and body care line with this ingredient.
WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?
I am sure by now, we all know what hyaluronic acid is, but let me give you a brief background on this ingredient that naturally occurs in our body.
Our body produces approximately 15 grams of hyaluronic acid; one-third of which is synthesized every day. Hyaluronic acid is a natural lubricating fluid found in our skin, eyes, joints, connective tissues, and fluid.
As we age, our skin’s moisture reduces, hence the appearance of wrinkles, sagging skin, and fine lines. Our skin loses elasticity, so opting for skincare products that are enriched with the vital ingredient hyaluronic acid can help your skin maintain it’s youthful, bouncy texture plus your skin will be literally plumper. I am an advocate for using hyaluronic acid for your skin in your mid-20’s and upwards.
SKINCARE ROUTINE
I use several products from Neutrogena, but their Hydro-Boost Multivitamin Booster is a staple in my skin care routine. I love that this product is suitable for all skin types because, with oily skin like mine, I need to read ingredients before I purchase products.
Hyaluronic Acid is the base ingredient in this product. I use it in the morning after I cleanse and tone and at night after I wash and tone. I use several serums targeted for several skin issues, and the hydro-boost multivitamin gives my skin that nutritional boost that it needs.
The Neutrogena Hydro-Boost Multivitamin Booster is light in texture and unscented. It applies smoothly and absorbs quickly into the skin. It does not leave any sticky residue on the skin and leaves the skin hydrated throughout the day. This serum is great to wear alone or under makeup. While using this product, I did not break out, and it did help my skin ‘glow.’
HYDRATE AND EXFOLIATE
The serum contains glycerine which is perfect for those with dry skin, as glycerine will attract surface moisture and hold the moisture in your skin. Glycerine is also good if you do have oily skin, as oily skin also need as much moisture as it can get.
Another great ingredient in the Neutrogena Multivitamin Booster is citric acid which will help to exfoliate the skin gently. If you have post acne scars and are looking to fade the scars, this serum will help to fade the scars. Citric Acid is an AHA which if used in the right concentration will help treat skin problems such as wrinkles, clogged pores, uneven skin textures – if you are looking to treat these skin conditions, then you might want to give the Neutrogena Multivitamin Booster a try.
