Simple Nighttime Skincare Routine

Simple nighttime skincare routine

In this blog post, I will share the importance of having a nighttime skincare routine, especially if you want to treat your skin issues. This reason is that our body regenerates at night, which is the best time to repair wounds, cells, and skincare issues.  In addition, nighttime is the best time to apply treatment serums if you have skin concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, dry skin, oily skin, or inflamed skin.

I will share the best steps for a simple nighttime skincare routine for healthy and glowing skin.

Cleansing For Simple Nighttime Skincare Routine

First, you want to cleanse your skin of the dirt, oils, and environmental toxins accumulated throughout the day. Because your skin will be working as you sleep, opting for a cleanser to treat your skin issue is best. If you have oily skin, you may want to use a Salicylic acid cleanser to wash your face, or if you have dry skin, you want to opt for a Squalane facial cleanser to help infuse oils into your skin. Also, if you have a damaged skin barrier, use an Amino Acid cleanser to help infuse hydration into your skin.

Apply Your Skincare Treatment Serum

After cleansing, gently pat your face dry and apply your treatment serum. I will share some of the best ingredients to use for various skin issues.

Acne – The Ordinary Salicylic Acid Serum

Acne Scars/Hyperpigmentation – Azelaic Acid Serum

Dry skin – Squalane oil

Oily skin – Niacinamide + Zinc Serum

Damaged skin barrier – Amino Acid Serum

Rough skin texture – AHA/BHA Serum

Wrinkles – Peptides Serum

Apply Antioxidant Serum To Treat Skin Cells And Neutralize Free Radicals

Apply an antioxidant serum to repair skin cells that have come in contact with damaging free radicals. For example, you may opt for Vitamin C, E, Resveratrol, or Ferulic acid serums to neutralize free radicals.

Antioxidants are very potent, and they can treat your skin to neutralize free radicals, help boost collagen production, and help other skincare ingredients to work better for your skin’s health.

Nighttime Skincare Cream

After you apply your treatment serum and antioxidant serum, you may use an anti-aging skin cream that contains Retinol, Peptides, Amino acids, and Copper peptides to stimulate collagen production to firm your skin as you sleep. In addition, you may also use a ceramide cream to help with continuous skin barrier protection and nourishment of your skin.

Finally, get at least 6 hours of sleep – the body is busy working to regenerate your skin between the hours of 10 pm and 1 am. So enjoy your ‘beauty sleep’!
