We will share some practical steps you can adopt in your everyday life to ensure you take care of your well-being for you and others around you.
Take Care Of Your Well-being
Have A Relationship With God: God is our heavenly Father who wants to have a relationship with us and help us overcome the hardships of life. Most importantly, He wants to give you eternal life so you can spend all eternity with Him in Heaven. Therefore, He has made provision available so you can have a relationship with Him – that is, by believing in Jesus Christ for the repentance of sin and to become Born Again. The moment you place your faith in Jesus Christ, you become born again and receive the Holy Spirit, and God begins to sanctify and prune you spiritually and physically.
Be Aware Of Your Thought Patterns: Our thoughts are powerful. Also, it is vital to know that our dominant thoughts influence our reality. Your dominant thoughts are the words you hear repeated over and over that impact your life and decision-making. Proverbs 4:23 states that we should be careful what we think, for our thoughts run our life. Therefore, it is vital to be aware of the thoughts that run through your mind, control them, and exchange those negative thoughts for positive ones.
Be careful Of Your Words: Your words are powerful. Therefore, be careful what you say to yourself. You may need to stop talking that way to yourself if you speak negatively. Proverbs 16:24 says Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. So, our words, whether we say them to ourselves or others, have a powerful effect on our minds and emotions. Therefore, ensure you are speaking kind and gracious words to help nourish your mind and body.
Meditate On Biblical Truths To Renew Your Mind: Mostly, if we come from a place of trauma, the after-effects of traumatic experiences are traumatic symptoms such as anxiety and depression. Anxiety and depression take hold of our life because we mostly agree with the negative words in our minds, and these words are lies. Therefore, to have healthy mental and emotional well-being, we have to overcome the negative thought patterns in our minds, and the easiest way to do that is to overcome those negative thoughts with the truth of God.
You can write all the negative words that are dominant in your mind and go through the Bible and look for verses that are opposite to those negative words. Secondly, you want to spend a good amount of time meditating on the Words Of God, and I believe meditating on The Word Of God repeatedly will help you renew your mind in no time.
Forgive To Release Unhealthy Emotions: Forgiveness is a powerful way of releasing negative emotions stored in the body. Unforgiveness comes from hurt, pain, and anger a person has experienced throughout their life, and most often, hurt and pain, if you do not deal with it, will turn into a person having anger issues and other psychological problems. Therefore, when you go through the forgiveness process, you deliberately and consciously forgive anyone or any situation that may have hurt you. As you consciously do that, you remove all stored-up negative emotions. You realize that you become lighter after you forgive, and your emotional and mental health is positively impacted. You find that you are happier, you can think clearly, and your anxiety and depression are gone. All anger issues are also gone.
Nourish Your Body And Soul (Mind): To care for your well-being, you must care for your mind. There are simple ways you can nourish your mind. For example, enjoy more sunshine and spend more time in nature. Avoid stressful situations, laugh a lot, and enjoy a tranquil atmosphere. Enjoy a well-balanced diet and drink plenty of water. Spend time in prayer and reading The Bible. Finally, remember to socialize and enjoy at least six hours of sleep.
Induce Your Happy Chemicals
The happy chemicals that boost our mood are Oxytocin, Endorphins, Serotonin, and Dopamine. Additionally, each of these chemicals and hormones has particular functions in the body to keep us happy, and motivated, manage our emotions, and feel love and affection.
There are natural ways you may induce these chemicals and hormones. For example, to induce Serotonin, you may enjoy aromatherapy. For Endorphins, try exercising. Furthermore, try listening to ‘nature sounds’ to induce Dopamine; for Oxytocin, try volunteering.
Taking care of your well-being is easy; you must become aware of your thought patterns, and if you find that they are negative and self-defeating, you will have to renew them with the Word Of God. Also, you will have to forgive if you believe there is unforgiveness in your heart to help release all negative emotions stored in your body.
Importantly, build an intimate relationship with God. Remove stress, and enjoy nature.
